ASTEROIDEA
Starfish species

Asteroidea is a sub-class of the phylum Echinodermata that includes starfish. Typically, asteroids have five hollow arms, radially arranged. Underneath the arms are tube feet that are used to open bivalves that are their main prey.

Asteroids range from the lower Ordovician to the present day.
